Two Things: Today is Primary Election Day (and how to support a great Community-Driven Mural)

Today is Primary Elections Day—don’t forget to VOTE!
This weekend, the Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act (a big thank you to those of you who called on Congress to vote yes)! This is a huge success, and goes to show that it matters who we elect! So, make sure to vote TODAY in the Primary Elections. Even though it’s too late to mail in your ballot, don’t worry, you can drop them in a ballot box, or go to your local polling place and do it in person. Haven’t registered to vote yet? Don’t worry! One of the wonderful things about Democracy in Vermont is you can register to vote at the polls, if you’re not already registered! Find out more about when and where you can vote, check your voter registration, and track your ballot on the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page.
Brattleboro High Street Mural Project up for Significant Matching Grant
Epsilon Spires, a Southern VT non-profit and winner of a VNRC Small Grant for Smart Growth this year, is leading a community driven project to transform a graffitied wall in downtown Brattleboro into an inspiring mural representing the unique local culture of the region. Thanks to a recently launched crowdfunding campaign sponsored by the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development’s Better Places program, the “High Street Mural” project will receive a matching grant of $16,000 if the campaign reaches its $8,000 goal by August 26th, 2022. Join Epsilon Spires and the Brattleboro community in supporting the transformation of the graffitied wall on High Street with beautiful public art that sparks local pride, supports cultural tourism in the region, and inspires a sense of community co-ownership of Brattleboro’s public spaces.
