In Case You Missed It: VNRC Water Program Staff Discuss Flood Resilience on Vermont Viewpoint

Last week, VNRC’s Jon Groveman and Karina Dailey appeared on WDEV’s Vermont Viewpoint to discuss dams, flood resilience, and how Vermont can protect our watersheds and communities from future disasters. “There are only eight flood control dams in Vermont. Period. And all of the other dams in the state contribute to flooding because they raise the elevation of the water, so they are not maintained for flood control,” shared Dailey. If you missed the segment live, you can listen to the entire interview below, and learn more about what we’re doing at VNRC to protect clean water and build resilience as flood and natural disaster events intensify due to climate change.
