Three Things: VNRC’s Comments on the Worcester Range, Action on the Renewable Energy Standard, and a Winter Weatherization Webinar

Three Things: Sharing our comments on the Worcester Range Management Plan, taking action on the Renewable Energy Standard, and inviting you to a winter webinar on weatherization.

Stay informed, connected, and engaged—three things.

VNRC’s Comments on the Worcester Range Management Plan

VNRC, Audubon Vermont and the Vermont Center for Ecostudies recently provided comments to the Agency of Natural Resources on the Long Range Management Plan (LRMP) for the Worcester Range Management Unit. Broadly, our recommendations included supporting actions in the LRMP to promote the ecological health of the Worcester Range, natural communities and diverse wildlife habitat. Our comments also touched on recommendations to maintain forest connectivity, biodiversity, water quality, and sustainable recreational and ecological forestry opportunities, all while mitigating potential negative impacts to this critically important landscape in Vermont.

Action Alert: Let Your Representatives Know You Support a Modernized Renewable Energy Standard!

Last week, the House Environment and Energy Committee voted 9-1-1 to advance a bill, H.289, to modernize Vermont’s Renewable Energy Standard. If enacted, it would bring far more new cost-saving, pollution-cutting clean energy onto our grid. The bill will make two more committee stops before it heads for a vote by the full House of Representatives. VNRC has been advocating for critical reforms to Vermont’s Renewable Energy Standard to meet the urgency of the climate crisis and position Vermont for an equitable and affordable clean energy future. We hope you can please take a few moments to call or email your Representative(s) and ask them to support H.289, for a modernized Renewable Energy Standard.
