Vermont Health Care Professionals Elevate Public Health Consequences of Climate Change at Recent Lobby Day
Last Friday, a coalition of health care professionals from across Vermont joined together at the State House to meet with legislative leadership and discuss the damaging impacts that climate change is having on public health in Vermont, and the urgent need for action. Participants included representatives from the Vermont Climate and Health Alliance, the Vermont Public Health Association, and the Vermont Medical Society, as well as independent practitioners and veterinarians. They called on lawmakers to advance the number one pollution-reduction measure in Vermont’s Climate Action Plan – S.5, the Affordable Heat Act.
