Montpelier, VT – “VNRC is encouraged that Governor-elect Scott has appointed Julie Moore as Secretary of the Agency of Natural Resources. Julie’s environmental science background and experience working with Stone Environmental, and before that directing ANR’s efforts to reduce phosphorous pollution in Lake Champlain, position her well for this important position. We are hopeful that this appointment reflects a commitment on behalf of the Scott Administration to science-based decision-making, as well as a commitment to protecting the state’s waters, which will be essential as we implement the state’s plan to clean up Lake Champlain and other waters across the state. We look forward to working with Julie on the many important issues facing Vermont, from water quality and forest fragmentation, to climate change.”
