What if running could save a forest? Home to one of the last tracts of old-growth Gondwanan rainforest in the world, the takayna, or Tarkine, region of northwest Tasmania is at the mercy of timber and mining operations. Told through the eyes of a rural doctor who runs ultramarathon distances deep into the forest to scout logging operations, Takayna unpacks the complexities of modern conservation and challenges us to consider the importance of our last truly wild places.
Can’t make it? You can still support us by buying a raffle ticket! Enter to win a Patagonia duffel and some VNRC swag. You can make a suggested donation and purchase raffle tickets on EventBrite here, or buy raffle tickets at Onion River Outdoors (20 Langdon St, Montpelier). Winners will be drawn at the November 7 event, but you don’t have to be present to win. Good luck!
