In this week’s Climate Dispatch, we talk with Senator Christopher Bray, Chair of the Senate Natural Resources and Energy Committee about the Weatherization for All initiative that his committee has been discussing for several weeks. He highlights the many benefits of weatherization for Vermonters’ homes, and how important it is to ramp up that effort to meet our climate goals, while also creating good jobs, saving people money on their heating bills, and making homes healthier and more comfortable.
We also discuss the Governor’s proposed funding increase for weatherization programs, and we support that increased level of one-time funding year, while also supporting longer-term solutions to maintain momentum for this important initiative.
This week’s call to action is to contact your legislators to express your support for an increased investment in weatherization.
