Three things: Inviting you to participate in crafting Vermont’s Carbon Reduction Strategy, disseminating flood resources and an opportunity to share your experiences, and introducing our new featured artist, Anni Lorenzini.
Stay informed, connected, and engaged—three things.
Rescheduled: Provide Your Input on the Vermont Agency of Transportation’s Draft Carbon Reduction Strategy
To help Vermont achieve its carbon pollution reduction requirements and meet the US Department of Transportation’s requirement for every state to develop a Carbon Reduction Strategy, the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is developing a plan to reduce emissions in our transportation sector. Even with the state’s recent efforts to reduce transportation emissions – Vermont’s most polluting sector – there is still a gap projected in the state’s ability to meet both the 2030 and 2050 emissions reduction requirements. VTrans is inviting all Vermonters to participate in a survey and attend virtual public meetings. The meetings have been rescheduled due to recent flooding events and will now take place on Wednesday, August 2nd, at 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. via Zoom to help inform and shape the state’s Carbon Reduction Strategy.. Flood Resources and an Opportunity to Share your Experiences
In the aftermath of the recent devastating flooding event that affected many parts of our beloved state, our hearts go out to all those impacted by this catastrophe. We have compiled various resources, including local volunteer opportunities, events, and recovery resources, to aid in the ongoing recovery process. You can find these resources on our website here. To further our efforts, we also launched a survey to gather local volunteer and support opportunities, as well as personal stories from Vermonters affected by the flooding. By participating, you can help us amplify local initiatives and shed light on the real-life consequences of extreme weather events.
