In this week’s Climate Dispatch, we share a report out from the first meeting of the Vermont Climate Council that was established by the Global Warming Solutions Act.
The Solutions Act transforms Vermont’s greenhouse gas emission reduction goals into requirements and charges the Climate Council with developing a plan to meet those mandates. Two local experts who have been appointed as members of the Council, Johanna Miller from the Vermont Natural Resources Council and Lauren Oates from the Nature Conservancy, join us to discuss their impressions from the first meeting and their hopes for what will come from this important work in the future.
