Webinar: A retrospective on 50 years of the Clean Water Act, and what comes next

The federal Clean Water Act (CWA) is turning 50 on October 18th!

Join VNRC’s Policy and Water Program Director, Jon Groveman — October 18th at noon — for a retrospective on the impact of the Clean Water Act, our ongoing work, and a look to the future of clean water.

Register here.

Enacted in 1972, the Clean Water Act transformed how water pollution is addressed across the country.  In 1972 raw sewage regularly flowed into our waters and the Ohio River was on fire.  The Webinar will review how the CWA has worked to clean up waters in Vermont, highlight key actions taken over the last 50 years under the Clean Water Act to protect water quality, discuss where the implementation of the Clean Water Act has fallen short and what we need to do fulfill the stated goal of the Clean Water Act to restore, maintain and enhance the quality of all of our waters.
