On September 20th, 2024, we submitted comments to the United States Forest Service in partnership with Audubon Vermont and Dr. Bill Keeton regarding a national process to address old-growth forests across the National Forest System.

We’ve been tracking the Forest Service’s recent policy changes and support their efforts to strengthen the protection of old growth forests through an amendment process to update forest land management plans. We think this amendment process is crucial to providing a consistent framework for the protection and management of this vitally significant and underrepresented forest type and we appreciate the opportunity to comment on this policy development. Read our full comments below:
