Global Warming Solutions Act Passes Vermont Senate Natural Resources Committee

Exciting news! Earlier today, with only a couple important changes, the Vermont Senate Natural Resources and Energy Committee voted the Global Warming Solutions Act (H.688) out of their committee – making clear the importance of strategic, equitable, job-creating climate action. The bill now heads to the full Senate for a floor vote, which is likely to happen early next week.

We wouldn’t have made it this far without all of you, but we still have some hurdles to overcome to ensure that we put this critical climate policy into law.

Please contact your State Senators and encourage them to vote YES on the Global Warming Solutions Act – H.688! Find your Senators at https://legislature.vermont.gov/people/.

Please also join us in thanking the Senators who voted today to advance this bill. Special thanks to Senator Chris Bray, chair of the Natural Resources and Energy Committee, and to Senator Campion and Senator McDonald also for their essential support. Given the challenges of working remotely, and the many other critical issues policymakers are grappling with in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, this kind of leadership is more important than ever.
