Climate Dispatch—March 26, 2021: Dan Reilly from Efficiency Vermont

In this week’s Climate Dispatch, we’re joined by Dan Reilly, the public affairs director for Efficiency Vermont, the State’s official Energy Efficiency Utility. Dan shared an update on a range of weatherization initiatives under active discussion at the State House. The State Budget, which passed the House this week, included $40 million in weatherization and other climate-related investments.

The Transportation bill (H.433) also passed the House this week. It includes funding for new electric vehicle incentives, multi-unit dwelling charging stations, incentives to help lower-income people access affordable high-efficiency new and used vehicles, a commitment to fare-free public transit through July of 2023, and more.

Call to action: Thank your Representative/s for supporting the climate-related provisions in the budget and transportation bill. These improvements will help more Vermonters weatherize their homes and access cleaner, more affordable, and more accessible transportation options. Find your Representative at
