Just this past July we saw the federal government pass one of the most damaging pieces of legislation in modern American history. Coined as Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” this legislation strips healthcare away from thousands of our residents, weakens our standing to fight the climate crisis and electrify our communities, threatens hunger for poor Vermonters, and empowers law enforcement to conduct unlawful raids on vulnerable immigrant communities.
So we’re putting on a Big Beautiful Tour About this Big Ugly Bill.
To respond to these unprecedented challenges, we’re activating in communities across Vermont to inform constituents about these changes and what they mean for working families and at-risk communities.
This tour is not just an exercise in civic education. This tour will empower voters with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to help their neighbors and advocate for actions that will protect our communities from the worst effects of this legislation, and subsequent actions taken by the federal government that pose a distinct harm to Vermonters.
This bill is ugly. But our communities are resilient and strong. This tour, and your willingness to join us, demonstrates the longstanding commitment Vermonters have to dialogue, community action, and solidarity. This tour is going to be big, spanning five regions across Vermont, and the discussions that we have, while difficult, will be a beautiful display of the work Vermonters are willing to do to stay strong and carry on a tradition of support, love, and respect for all of our neighbors.
