VNRC submits comments on Camel’s Hump Management Unit Long Range Management Plan

Vermont Natural Resources Council, in partnership with Audubon Vermont and The Nature Conservancy in Vermont, recently submitted comments to the Camel’s Hump Management Unit Stewardship Team regarding the Camel’s Hump Management Unit Long Range Management Plan.

Camel’s Hump is one of Vermont’s most beloved icons and has been a rallying point for our STate’s values, particularly those related to conservation, for generations. Now, in the face of climate change, renewed forest fragmentation, and increasing expectations placed on public land, it is important to reaffirm the underlying values that established the Forest Reserve and position it for success in the coming century.

The intent of the letter is to encourage the State, and the public, to continue to see Camel’s Hump as a catalyst for conservation and as a platform to demonstrate Vermont’s enduring commitment to conservation. Read the full letter here.
