Vermont Awarded Funding for Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program
Thanks to nearly $1.8 million in funding from the USDA’s Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, Vermont students will receive more fruits and veggies over the 2011-2012 academic year. The Program makes free, fresh produce available to children in participating schools. Vermont has been at the forefront of the Farm to School movement, as well as promoting local foods in schools, so this funding is an appropriate next step. Read the full article here.
