Strategies Outlined for Healthy Community Design

The Vermont Land Use Education and Training Collaborative recently released a new topic paper on Healthy Community Design. In its paper, the Collaborative offers ways that local officials, public health advocates, and others can plan and develop communities so that it’s easier for people to live active, healthy lives. Among the strategies: including health-promoting language in town plans, community health assessments, complete streets, health impact assessments, and smart growth.
