Statement from VNRC Executive Director Brian Shupe on Appointment of Michael Snyder as Commissioner of Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation

Montpelier, VT – “The reappointments of Commissioner Snyder for the Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation and Louis Porter for Fish as Wildlife Department signal the strength of both individuals in working with people of a variety of perspectives to manage our natural resources. Our fish, wildlife, and forest resources help to drive the economic and ecological health of our state, and we look forward to working with both commissioners and Deputy Commissioner Sam Lincoln to maintain and promote the health of Vermont’s forest lands and fish and wildlife populations.”

Through research, education, collaboration and advocacy, VNRC protects and enhances Vermont’s natural environments, vibrant communities, productive working landscapes, rural character and unique sense of place, and prepares the state for future challenges and opportunities.
