New Report Shows Energy Efficiency Supporting Millions of U.S. Jobs
A new report released earlier this month shows the energy efficiency industry is already supporting at least 1.9 million U.S. jobs and nearly 8,600 Vermont jobs (Vermont info on page 114 of the report). The report uses the same methodology as the U.S. government uses to produce labor statistics and is the most comprehensive report on the sector to date, according to the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy. According to the report, the energy efficiency sector now employs about twice as many workers as the auto industry (including auto parts manufacturers), and almost 10 times as many workers as the oil and gas extraction industry.
