Our Work

Join Us to Support Working Lands Feb. 13

Please join VNRC and our partners on Wednesday, Feb. 13, to let your legislators know that you support a strong, continued investment for Vermont’s working lands.

As you may know, last year the Working Lands bill – supported by VNRC and other members of the Vermont Working Landscape Partnership – created a fund to invest state economic development dollars in our working landscape. The first year saw $1 million invested in this fund. Now, the new Working Lands Enterprise Board has just finished its first round of grant applications and over 380 enterprises applied for close to $10 million in funding. The Working Landscape Partnership is now supporting a “5-by-3″ investment – $5 million every year for 3 years. Gov. Shumlin has proposed $1.5 million for this program. We thank the governor for including the Working Lands Enterprise Fund in his budget, and we believe a bigger and bolder investment is needed.

Please JOIN US at the State House on Wednesday, Feb. 13 to let lawmakers know you support the “5-by-3″ working lands investment.

Schedule for the day:
