Wal-Mart Update January 2005

On January 6, the St. Albans Development Review Board deliberated for over four hours on Wal-Mart’s application to build a big box store there but have yet to reach a decision on the proposal. The DRB will continue its closed session deliberations on February 10 and have asked Wal-Mart to provide additional information prior to that time. Once the DRB concludes it has enough information, they may close the record and make a decision within 45 days. That decision may then be appealed to the Environmental Court within 30 days. Wal-Mart must also file for an Act 250 application, which could happen any day. Stay tuned!
