Arthur Gibb Award for Individual Leadership
People are the catalyst for change. Smart Growth Vermont recognizes this by each year celebrating an individual for his or her community leadership in putting smart growth principles into action with the Arthur Gibb Award for Individual Leadership. Nominations are now open.
This prestigious award honors an individual whose leadership has brought about a positive and lasting change in the way their community integrates growth with conservation. Widely considered the father of Act 250 and the prime force behind the state’s billboard law, Arthur Gibb was Chair of the Environmental Board and a state senator from Addison County. He passed away in 2005 at the age of 97.
Individuals can be nominated for the award by submitting forms and letters of recommendations to Smart Growth Vermont by close of day March 26, 2010. Forms for the award nominations are available on our website or can be sent to you. Contact Suzanne Blanchard, firstname.lastname@example.org, or call (802) 864-6310 with any questions or to receive a copy of the nomination packet.
