AmeriCorps Member Ben Civiletti to Join VNRC
A new AmeriCorps member will be joining the Vermont Natural Resources Council starting September 2.
Ben Civiletti of Burlington will support VNRC’s energy program and primarily serve to support the Vermont Energy and Climate Action Network, or VECAN, whose mission is to start, support and strengthen town energy committees across Vermont. VNRC serves as the coordinator of VECAN.
Civiletti has a BS in wildlife biology and has varied experience including editorial work at Baltimore Magazine, leadership of UVM’s cycling team, and fieldwork for the Vermont Democratic Party. A strong interest in sustainability led him to a range of projects, from wetlands conservation in Winooski to emissions research in Montpelier.
“I have seen the effects of grassroots energy action across our state and I can’t wait to be a part of its forward momentum,” Civiletti said.
Keil Corey, VNRC’s Membership and Outreach Coordinator, has been the AmeriCorps member working with VNRC most recently.
